‘Fancy Fish?’
Dawlish College Year 7 Art Club
We have created a piece inspired by British culture, at the seaside, and the Queen’s Jubilee. We have used old floorboards to create the fish and chips and fabric scraps to create the banner asking if you ‘fancy some fish n’ chips?’ after your walk along the prom. Under the crown, there is an abandoned hanging basket decorated with leftover mosaic tiles and wool pom-poms.
We have written to the local fish and chip shops asking them to consider how environmentally conscious they are. Through their selection and advertising of sustainable ‘fancy’ fish and use of biodegradable and/ or recyclable packaging and disposables, and if they can make any changes for the better. Can you?
